Independent Research Project Due: December 11th
Over the last few weeks we have been exploring our topics through guided research, focus question construction, outline production and thesis building exercises. Now is the time to begin building our projects!
Reminders: Citations
Cite all information that you pull from your sources as you write. To do this, use parenthetical citations and MLA format. Parenthetical citations- at the end of a sentence in which you use a source place the name of that source (usually the author’s last name) in parentheses. Like this (Kain). Thesis and theses
Be sure your thesis is clear, engaging and covers all of your subtopics. Each subtopic should have a thesis of its own and these should support the projects main thesis. Annotated Bibliography
Return to the annotated bibliography you constructed as we started the project. Update it with new sources you have uncovered and update the annotations to include how each source helped you either understand your subject or how it helped you create your project. Remember- images will need to be cited in MLA format.
Basic formatting
Remember to use topic and supporting sentences.
Remember to have someone, other than yourself, proofread and review your project a few days before it is due so that you may make the necessary edits before turning it in.
